We don't know why this one is called a Tycoon's Buffet but we do know that some of the dishes are exquisite sounding Indian versions of the kind of stuff Sydney Sheldon's tycoon heroes savour on their romantic sallies. Like Papaya Murabba, for instance. See what we mean? Whether that's a lame connection or not, check out what is on the spread, and you won't feel so discerning anymore.
You get a welcome drink, snacks, soups, 12 salads (3 non veg and 9 veg), the main course, plus a choice of 18 desserts (including 4 sugar-free ones). All for Rs.299 + taxes, working up to approx. Rs. 351. The cuisine includes Chinese, North and South Indian.
Some of the toothsome delights that have enjoyed greedy and goggle-eyed stares, both on the menu, and on the lunch-table, are: Bengali fish gravy, fried egg in garlic-sauce, mutton biryani, cauliflower fried rice, for the main course. Chicken Shorbet and Cream-Of-Mushroom, for soups, and Fried Chicken Winglets and Potato Fritters for snacks. The desserts include Kala Jamun and something mysterious but very scrupmtious sounding – Pineapple Jalebi. And Papaya Murabba without sugar for the calorie conscious.
