The Australian High Commission, New Delhi, in association with the Hyderabad Film Club, is presenting Australian Visions, a festival of acclaimed Australian films, from 8th to 10th March, at the Prasad Labs Preview Theatre. A total of 8 films will be screened during the film festival.
Today, the second day, The Tracker will be the 2nd of 4 movies to be screened. The film is directed by Rolf De Heer, and has David Gulpilil, Gary Sweet, Grant Page, Damon Gameau and Noel Wilton playing the central characters.
When an aborigine is accused of murdering a white woman, 3 white men must trek through some perilous terrain to find him. Aided by an aborigine tracker, the men undergo a tortuous physical journey while also grappling with their own mental, and often racist, demons. Meanwhile, the tracker slowly reveals himself as having a lot more power than the men first realized.
