These kids cut classes to bat their way to the trophy. St Andrew's High School at Bowenpally, is organising the 7th Louis Emanuel Trophy Cricket Tournament from 22nd August to 2nd September at the Parade Grounds. The final on 2nd September, will be held at their school premises.
This annual event is being organised after a gap of two years, and sponsored by San Marina Group.
This Inter-School Under-16 Tournament will feature 12 top teams of city schools split into four groups, viz., Group A, B, C & D. St Andrew's, St Patrick's and Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) constitute Group A, while Group B has All Saint's, Cal Public School and Johnson Grammar School.
Group C has Don Bosco, Hyderabad Public School (Ramanthapur) and Samaritans High School, while Group D is formed by Bows Town, Secunderabad Public School & Mehboob College High School.
A total prize money of Rs. 50,000 is at stake, plus the glittering trophy. The tournament will be conducted on a league-cum-knockout basis. St Andrew's are the defending champions.
