If Cricket is for Gentlemen, then who let these Alligators in? Watch the 20 best schools of the city battle it out at Glendale Floodlight Grounds. For guess what? The Second Annual Under 13 Inter School Cricket Tournament in Hyderabad is scheduled to start from the 7th of Aug.
This tournament provides exposure to competitive cricket, and it is believed that many of the youngsters participating are looking forward to cricket as their career, and have set their sights at the State and National level.
This tournament was started last year, when about 12 teams from Hyderabad had participated. The finals were played between Hyderabad Cricket Club and All Saints High school, and the trophy was also picked up by the Saints, who come in now, as the Defending Champions.
This year the special feature is that the Tournament will be played among the top 20 schools, on a League-cum-Knockout basis. Thus it would provide an opportunity for each team to have at least three matches at the league stage.
The schools participating in the tournament are grouped in 5 Pools, with each team named after an animal. The teams are Glendale Academy (Panthers), DRS International (Cheetahs), Jubilee Hills Public School (Jaguars), Orchids International (Leopards), Future Kids (Flamingos), Niraj Public School (Hawks), Hyderabad Public School (Eagles), Kennedy High the Global School (Kiwis), Howard Public School (Dolphins), Gautham Model School (Whales), Oakridge International School (Turtles), Delhi Public School (Tigers), Ivy League (Lions), International School (Rhinos), All Saints High School (Alligators), Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan
