Fine dining is not only about what goes into the stomach, but also about experiencing the transition of several blending flavours to create a unique concoction. The experience of watching ingredients of your choice being grilled, and basted golden in sauces by a chef from an exotic land - all in the Japanese way - is sure rank high in your trove of culinary escapades this week.
Hotel Taj Deccan is holding a Teppanyaki Food Festival at the Syn, from 16th November to 20th November, from 12:30pm to 11pm.
Teppanyaki is a Japanese way of cooking, where food is prepared by grilling the ingredients on an iron pan (in Japanese, Teppan means iron pan, and Yaki means grilling). Chef Ju Anjo, flown in from Phillipines, will grill your chosen ingredients across a live counter.
There are 3 kinds of platters available - vegetarian platter, meat platter and seafood platter. In the vegetarian platter, you can choose from broccoli, zucchini, cabbage and mushroom, to be fried/half-fried/grilled in a host of savoury Japanese dip sauces that include sesame dipping sauce, ginger dipping sauce and sweet dipping sauce in your way.
Similarly, you can pick chicken or lamb from the meat platter, and underwater delicacies like tuna, prawn, lobster, octopus and squids from the seafood platter. All the platters come with a small portion of rice or nooodles of your choice.
The vegetarian platter is available at Rs. 250, the meat platter at Rs. 350 and the seafood platter at Rs. 550. Please contact 6666-3939 for further details.
