Internationally acclaimed theatre director and trainer Dr. David Zinder will present a talk on his book "Body Voice Imagination" on 8th January at La Makaan. The talk will be followed by an interactive session.

Body Voice Imagination is written by Dr. David Zinder, a teacher of the Michael Chekhov technique of acting training. This book is a comprehensive course of exercises devoted to the development of actors' creative expressivity, comprising both pre-Chekhov imagework training and seminal exercises of the Chekhov technique.

The book also details the way in which these techniques can be applied to performance through a discovery of the profound connections between the actor's body, imagination and voice. It develops both a comprehensive physical training system and an emphasis on practical character work.

David Zinder, a Professor Emeritus of the Tel Aviv University Department of Theatre Arts, was a founding member of the Michael Chekhov Association, and has over 3 decades of experience in actor training and directing. David is also currently involved in establishing a school for arts which will include theatre as well as film & television studies.
