The 2nd annual multi-city concert tour Idea Rocks India has got high voltage performances by Sunidhi Chauhan, Raghav Sachar and Laughter Challenge maestro Navin Prabhakar. Planned in 25 cities across India, the series will begin in Kochi on 14th January and end in Hyderabad on 12th May. The Hyderabad leg of the tour was scheduled for 9th February at Lal Bahadur Stadium, but was cancelled due to some reasons and is now scheduled for 12th May at Hitex Exhibition grounds.
Passes for the show can be won by customers of Idea who take part in the various Value Added Services schemes and also by those who decide to become Idea customers during the concert calendar. Some lucky customers also get to meet and greet the artists. Through the Idea Voice Portal, you can participate in singing, stand-up comedy and Radio Jockeying, and the winners get an opportunity to perform live with Sunidhi Chauhan & company, on stage during the show.
Sunidhi Chauhan started her singing career at an early age of 4. She became famous through the various competitions she participated in, but her national fame came through the music show Meri Aawaz Suno, in which she won the Lata Mangeshkar Trophy for the best female singer of India.
Her first break in a Hindi film was in the film Shastra. This was followed by Gang, Veergati, Dahek, Bade Dilwala, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Shyam Benegal's Samar, and the Vidhu Vinod Chopra film Mission Kashmir. Dhoom Machale in Dhoom won the 2005 Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards.
She had no formal training before she entered various national singing competitions. Lata Mangeshkar offered to train her after she won on Meri Aawaz Suno. She also won the Filmfare R D Burman Award for New Music Talent in 2000, the R D Burman award for Most Promising Newcomer in 2001, and the Star Screen Award for Best Female Playback for the song Sajna Ve Sajna (for Chameli) in 2004.
Raghav Sachar is a musician who grew up in a family inclined towards music. He started to play the harmonium at the age of 4, and since then there has been no looking back. Raghav is famous for his ability to compose, arrange, sequence and sing in different styles of music. He knows to play 24 instruments and he calls this Cultural Amalgamation.
He studied music at the Monash University in Australia. He also formed a band, Canzona, with some friends, and toured countries in South-East Asia including Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, before proceeding to Australia for his studies.
Naveen Prabhakar is loved by the masses for his simple yet funny humor. He started his career as a singer & performed with Johnny Lever too on many occasions. Naveen has traveled in about 10 world tours as a performer with top Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, SRK and Kareena. His Pehchaan Kaun skit in Laughter Challenge, that is telecast on StarOne, has made him a known face to millions in India & abroad.
