Small Time Crooks - English Film By Woody Allen

Creaking Projectors is screening "Small Time Crooks", a 2000 American crime-comedy film directed by, written by and starring Woody Allen, along with Tracey Ullman and Hugh Grant. The screening is on 31st October, at Syn, Taj Banjara.



Ray (Woody Allen) and his friends plan a bank heist, and want to lease an old restaurant so they can tunnel from the basement of the restaurant to a nearby bank. His wife Frenchy (Tracey Ullman) covers what they are doing by selling cookies from the restaurant. The bank robbery scheme is a failure, but selling cookies makes them millionaires.



Frenchy and Ray thrust themselves into high society, but are criticized for being uncouth and lacking in taste. Frenchy then asks a man named David (Hugh Grant) to train her and Ray so they can fit in with the American upper class. What Ray and Frenchy don't know is that David is really just using Frenchy to make money.
