If you subscribe to size mattering, then this isn't the greatest of places that you can go to. Even considering that it is a niche exhibition, the depth of display is limited. What we mean is, for an interior decoration exhibition, you would assume that there would be about 4-5 brands/manufacturers of each product category displaying their latest. What you see here is a good breadth of display in terms of the number of the varieties of products, but the number of exhibitors is limited - to about a dozen, even including JNTU and IIID itself.
Given that, this 4th annual exhibition organized by the Hyderabad chapter of the Indian Institute of Interior Decoration does meet its purpose to a significant extent - that of having a demonstration of the latest trends, the newer products in interior decoration. There is, as we noted, a wide variety of household furnishing requirements, such as lighting, air-conditioning, flooring, glass, security systems, plants and furniture, on display in the various stalls of the manufacturers/fabricators. There are also office furnishing innovations on display, in the form of workstations and healthy seating. In fact, if the purpose were only to showcase newer developments/innovations to designers, then a large number of exhibitors in each variety is probably not required, and maybe that is why the size is small.
The main exhibitors include Metal World, Electrical Lines, Veena, Seating World, Srinivasa Engineering and Godrej (the sponsor). If you are an interior designer, or even an enthusiast, this is a must see. Nothing here is for sale, though. Please contact Renu Hassan at 331-9105 for further details.
