Here's a show that Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi would be proud of. And maybe he'll not even complain about 20,000W being too much of noise. From one sher (of Punjab) to another (of pro-convenient history textbooks), this one would have been a great bonding opportunity.
A sound and light show called Sher-E-Punjab is being organized by the Bank of Punjab on the event of the 200th anniversary celebrations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's coronation. The show will be based on the life and times of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
26 artists from Delhi and Chandigarh, who have already performed this play in 14 cities, will present Ranjit Singh's life history to the Hyderabad audience. A savior who fought to rescue the Sikh community and people of other religions as well from the cruel clutches of Ghazni Mohammad who invaded our land in the 1700s, Maharaja Ranjit Singh was acclaimed as a valorous hero. He ruled the Sikh land for over 40 years.
The show will be of two hours duration, with 20,000W music playing at the background. Entry is free, and donor passes can be obtained from the Bank of Punjab, Opposite Hotel Kamat, Paradise Circle, Secunderabad.
