The human body might or might not have been God's greatest invention, but for several ones forced to live with it, yoga is one. Most people travel half the globe to learn it, but for you it is just a drive away.
The Gandhi Gyan Mandir is organizing a camp called "Meditation For Better Health" for a period of one month. The camp is aimed at teaching the participants to build a strong body and a sharp mind through the practice of meditation and yoga. Participants will be under the guidance of qualified teachers and instructors.
Topics like Sookshasanas, Surya Namaskaras and Yogasanas will be taught at this camp. Under Sookshasanas, around 100 exercises covering parts of the body from the head to the toe will be taught. These are special exercises developed in-house by the institute after detailed studies over about 20 years.
Patients who are suffering from heart ailments, blood pressure, asthma, stomach pain, diabetes, anxiety, back ache, body pain, fear complex, tension, sleeplessness, depression, stress, loss of concentration, negative thoughts, gastric trouble, spondilitis, obesity, being underweight and many other problems can follow these exercises without any side effects or problems, the institute claims.
Under Surya Namaskaras, 12 postures will be taught. These are supposed to help make one's body highly flexible and energetic. These exercises are recommended at sunrise.
On the whole, only 30 to 40 asanas are taught across yoga institutes in India and abroad. And even here, all 40 asanas cannot be taught to everyone because of the different ages of the participants and the various ailments that some people may have. The instructors at this institute will suggest asanas to people depending upon their constitution.
At this camp, everyday a cupful of 'Sampoorna Arogyaamrutam' (a herbal elixir) will be given to every student for strength and good health. The course fee is Rs. 180. For applications please contact the Koti office of the institute.
