The Pragathi Media Links, an institute for traning news-readers, is organising a conference for its faculty. The conference will also provide a platform for honouring veterans of the print and electronic media. Senior journalist Varadachari, news reader of the Doordarshan, Shobha Shankar, and Akashavani's ex-news reader Adida Gopal Rao will be felicitated by the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandra Babu Naidu.
The conference will be followed by the convocation of the first graduating batch of the Institute. The editor of Andhra Jyothi Ram Chandra Murthy will be presiding over the function.
The other dignitaries who will be present on the day are MAA TV chairman Murali Krishnam Raju, ex-minister Naneppuneni Raja Kumari, actress Jayasudha Kapoor and comedian-turned-producer AVS. A minimum of 500 people are expected to attend the event.
