Taj Deccan is presenting an art exhibition 'Rural Symphony' by Jaya Baheti, from 1st to 17th October.
The exhibition attempts to showcase the recent development of the artist's imagery in conjunction with nature. This series is inspired by the rural landscapes and the charm of rural life, and its simplicity and spontaneity.
Baheti usually paints the bounties of nature and human relationships, and has always tried to paint the innumerable shades of life. Although her paintings reflect celebrations, they are subtly quoted in the various experiences of emotions that have molded her life and creative spirit. As an optimist by nature, she seeks the rainbow to survive the grays of existence.
Her media of choice are ink, acrylic and mixed media, applying hand-made paper, raw silk, board and canvases. She has also made line drawings in blacks and whites.
Jaya Baheti completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1992 from the Abhinav Kala Mahavidhyala, Pune. Besides solo shows in the country and Singapore, she has participated in several prestigious group shows such as Concern India Foundation auctions (4 times), the National Show at the India Habitat Centre, Art Fusion, Nehru Centre, Mumbai and the Lalith Kala Academy in New Delhi.
She has participated in several workshops and art camps. Her awards include the Hyderabad Art Society Award (4 times) and the Gold Medal by the Ambala Cant., Haryana, besides others.
The paintings are on view from 10am to 8pm. Please contact 6666-3939 for further details.
