22019
The Robotics Club of the Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology is organising a national-level festival on robotics called Roboveda '07, from 29th to 31st August. This festival will have 8 events including workshops (beginners and advanced), a Robotics Project expo and paper presentations on robotics, as below:
Kurukshetra - A war and destruction event that pits every robot against the others
Padmavyuh - Devise your own maze solving robot
Gati - Race your robots against the others like in Formula 1
Lakshmanrekha - Lines are drawn, and the robots need to stick to their lanes without changing track, just like in athletics
Vistaar - Design a robotic arm that can hold and place things wherever asked to
GoaLaa - Play with robots in a match of soccer, and outsmart the goalee
Yoddha - A Sumo-wrestling event
Lakshya - Break the barriers
This festival attracts participants not only from city colleges but also from all over the country. It provides an impetus to venture into the untouched areas of Robotics, explore opportunities and utilise them to the fullest. All the above events test the participants' shrewdness and ability to design robots with a great degree of mobility, vigilance and flexibility without compromising on robustness and size.
Besides the robot designing events, there are workshops for both novices and veterans in the field of robotics, and a paper presentation contest for those interested in unleashing their talents in the "study and research" arena. In addition, a robotics project expo named Parishkar allows students to display their projects in robotics that are useful for society.
The total prize money to be won is worth Rs. 3,00,000. Please contact T Arun at 99894-35358 for further details.
