Israeli director Menachem Golan directs a film of profound sensuality and intrigue, set in some glorious locations of Israel and India. Based on a novel by Abraham B Jehoshua, this story involves forbidden love between an older woman and a younger man. While it is set up as a doomed love triangle, it distinguishes itself from romantic dramas of its kind, with a curious supernatural element.

A young doctor, Ben Rubin (Aki Avni), is asked to accompany the hospital administrator and his wife Dori (Riki Gal) on an emergency journey to Bombay. The trio reaches India to save Dori's critically ill daughter.

When her husband is suddenly called back to work, Dori remains behind to nurse the girl. The intensity of their situation, coupled with scenic surroundings, leads Ben and Dori to indulge in a passionate affair. Back in Israel, Ben desperately wants to continue the affair, but the more realistic Dori advises him to find someone his own age. Ben finds other relationships thoroughly unsatisfying. In his crazed, passionate state, he starts believing that he is spiritually connected to Dori.
