Shrishti Art Gallery is presenting Realms Of The Mind, an exhibition of paintings by Kiran Kumar Varikilla. The display is on from 17th to 30th April.
The journey of Kiran Kumar Varikilla as an artist started pretty young, when he was inspired by the appreciation and direction given to him by his school art teacher. His conviction towards art made him to opt for a career in the field - one that was new for his family.
He moved out of his village and came to Hyderabad to pursue his Bachelor Of Fine Arts from Sri Venkateshwara College of Fine Arts in 2006, and completed it in the First Division. He then did his Masters in Fine Arts from the Hyderabad Central University in 2008, again passing out in the First Division.
Kiran has participated in shows at the Kalakriti Art Gallery, ICCR Art Gallery, Chitramayee State Gallery and Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. He has also received awards from the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Chitramayee State Gallery of Fine Arts, the Hyderabad Art Society and Lalit Kala Parishad (Vizag).
He has taken part in art camps and workshops that include the Artists' Camp organised by the Vasavi College Of Engineering & Technology in 2007, Kalakriti Art Gallery in 2007, the National Symposium Dying Camp organised by UNESCO in 2007, and the National Youth Festival Young Artist Camp in 2005.
