Qawwali sounds as mellifluous even when SRK is not around. Tonight, catch the real maestros in their clap-act.
The Department Of Culture, Govt. Of Andhra Pradesh, in association with the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur, is presenting a Qawwali Festival at the Ravindra Bharathi. The fest will be inaugurated by Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde, on the 10th of August. The Minister for Sports, Culture and Cinematography, M Satyanarayana Rao will preside over the function, and Dharmavarapu Subrahamanyam, Chairman, A P State Cultural Council, and V Nagireddy, Secretary to the Tourism And Culture Department, will be the guest of honor.
Chanchal Bharathi and her team from New Delhi, and Iqbal Hussain and Atiq Hussain Khan and team from Hyderabad, will be performing on the 10th of August.
On the 11th, Nazeer Niyazi Qawal from Udaipur will be performing along with his team. Mehboob Bandanawazi and team from Hyderabad will also sing on the eve. The chief guest on this night will be Mohd. Shabbir Ali, Minister of Information And Public Relations, and Power.
Kiran Patnakar and team from Udaipur, and Osman Taj and team from Hyderabad, will render qawwalis on the 12th. The function will have D N Mathur, GM, South Central Railways as the President, and C Narayana Reddy, as the Chief Guest.
