Psyche - An Exhibition Of Paintings By K S Vass: Events in Hyderabad

K S Vass is exhibiting his works at Kala Bhavan, from 19th Nov till 23rd Nov.

A multi faceted artist, K S Vass is known for his figurative works, as well as for his abstract paintings. His canvases depict fantasy and reality. His expressive female forms are austerely simple and emit female beauty. His tradition is one of mood rather than style, and include arabesques of dark tonality, feeling and imagination.

Vass was born in 1948 in Gudivada, Krishna District, to artist Koppada Venugopalam, who was the guru of many contemporary Indian artists. He received training in art from his father, and obtained a diploma in painting. He is also a post graduate in history.

He has participated in many art exhibitions and has won awards. His works have been acquired by private individuals in India, the U S, Germany, and by the Lalita Kala Academy in Hyderabad. His career went on as an art exponent at the Child Arts International in Hyderabad. He is the head of the department of painting at Kaladarshini, AndhraLoyola College in Vijayawada, and the art director at Sri Ram Animations in Hyderabad.
