Started in 1980, the Young Men's Club has had a major presence in the social, cultural and sports activities held in the city. This program aims at introducing new talented actors and actresses to famous film and media persons, and is one of the several activities of the Club providings a stepping-stone to budding artists, sportspersons, musicians etc. by informing them about the relevant channels available for their career needs.
Born in the USA, in Ohio, in the year 1920, this dream of William Paul Alexander, a judge and a socialite, has spread across nations providing social work and humanitarian services to about one million people every year. From the beginning it has had associations with the YMCA worldwide. The club has currently more than 2,000 clubs spread out in 70 countries throughout the world. Its headquarters are in Geneva.
The Young Men's Club programs have included work with children and young people, recreation, sports, service clubs, camping and community work.
