How lonely can a person get? Very, very, indeed. Find out here.

Uttarayan, a socio-cultural association of Hyderabad, is organising Natya Utsav, a 2-day Bengali theatre festival, on 20th & 21st August. The event is on at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium.

3 plays - Missed Call, Amake Dekhun and Meghnath Badh Kabya - will be presented by the Naye Natua Theatre Group from Kolkata, during the festival.

Amake Dekhun is the 2nd play on the inaugural day of the festival, and will be staged at 8:30pm. It was written by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay and directed by Gautam Halder.

It is a one-act play to be performed by Gautam Halder, and is about a simple man, who observes everybody with keen interest but who nobody takes any interest in. He is humbled by a crowd who towers over him and whose indivoduals stride this world with an identity of their own.

This man has no name, nor has anything special about him that can make others even remember him as an acquaintance. His wife and son do not recognize him when they come across him on the street. Missed Call is a sorrowful tale of this lonely person.

Uttarayan is a 3 decade old social club formed by a group of Bengalis residing in and around SR Nagar. It has grown over the years, organizing events and entertainment programs during Kali Puja and Diwali celebrations, to attract both Bengalis and non-Bengalis. Currently, Uttarayan has over 120 members from diverse professions.

To recognize talents among members and their families, "Outstanding Achievement Awards" have been introduced since the year 2007. The awards are meant to encourage members and their families to contribute articles, poems, short-stories etc., for publication in the souvenir that is published every year during Kali Puja celebrations.

Entry is free for everyone. Please contact Dr. Ashok Sadhukhan at 98482-08648 or Aniruddha Sen Gupta at 93900-56162 for further details.
