Uttarayan, a socio-cultural association of Hyderabad, is organising Natya Utsav, a 2-day Bengali theatre festival, on 20th & 21st August. The event is on at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium.
3 plays will be presented by the Naye Natua Theatre Group from Kolkata during the festival, as scheduled below:
20th August
7:00pm - Missed Call, by Gautam Halder
8:30pm - Amake Dekhun, by Gautam Halder
21st August
7:00pm - Meghnad Badh Kabya, by Gautam Halder
Uttarayan is a 3 decade old social club formed by a group of Bengalis residing in and around SR Nagar. It has grown over the years, organizing events and entertainment programs during Kali Puja and Diwali celebrations, to attract both Bengalis and non-Bengalis. Currently, Uttarayan has over 120 members from diverse professions.
To recognize talents among members and their families, "Outstanding Achievement Awards" have been introduced since the year 2007. The awards are meant to encourage members and their families to contribute articles, poems, short-stories etc., for publication in the souvenir that is published every year during Kali Puja celebrations.
