Can't Pay? Won't Pay! - English Play By Dramanon

After successfully making its debut last year, the Hyderabad Theatre Festival is now in its second outing. Titled Hyderabad Theatre & Short-Film Festival, it has been scheduled for 19th to 25th July, at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium. A total of 7 plays and 6 short films will be screened during the week-long festival.



Dario Fo's "Can't Pay? Won't Pay!", an English play directed by R K Shenoy, will be staged by Dramanon on the inaugural day. It was written in 1974 by Dario Fo, a reputed Nobel Prize winning Italian satirist, playwright, director, actor and composer.



It is a satirical take on individual responsibility and politics, challenging today's audience to abandon political cynicism and bring about the wheels of change. It depicts the aspirations of working-class people, denotes the conflict of capitalism and communism, and reflects on social issues that are as relevant today as they were when Dario Fo had written this play. The duration of the play is 90 minutes.
