Pratibha Vyjayantika Puraskaram For Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam: Events in Hyderabad

Andhra Pratibha Pratisthan is presenting the Pratibha Vyjayanti Puraskaram for this year to renowned supporting and comedy actor, Dr Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, at Ravindra Bharathi, this Sunday. Assembly Speaker Suresh Reddy is the chief guest and will present the award.

The inauguration of the function will be done by Padma Bhushan Dr C Narayana Reddy. The other special guest invitees are State Finance Minister K Rosaiah, Revenue Minister Konathala Ramakrishna, Ex-Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu, producer and director Dr D Rama Naidu, literary expert Bethavolu Ramabrahmam, Director of the Department of Culture and writer Dr Rallabandi Kavita Prasad, actor Srihari and comedian Brahmanandam. Mimicry Srinivas will present some mimicry bits as entertainment.

Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam is the Chairman of the A P Cultural Council and also a very famous comedian. He is 53 years of age, and has acted in more than 300 Telugu films. Annavaram, Sri Ramadasu, Jai Chiranjeeva, Bommarillu, Athadu, Andala Ramudu, Mass, Indra, Ladies Special and Family Circus are just some of them. He was also a very successful TV artiste before he stepped into movies. His maiden movie was Jandhyala's hit Jayammu Nishchayammu Ra.

Andhra Pratibha Pratisthan is established by Dr Ganni Bhaskar Rao, the Chairman of GNL Medical College, Rajahmundry. A successful doctor, he is also a fine critic of music. In this connection, he started the Andhra Pratibha Pratisthan, and encourages artistes by giving them a platform with performances, awards and felicitations. Pratibha Vyjayanti Puraskaram is one of their prestigious annual awards.
