REVIEW FOR PRAKRITI - AN EXHIBITION...

Dr. Avani Rao Gandra and Amita Talwar present an exhibition using digital-art and photography respectively, to further multiply the rapturous beauty of nature. In this exhibition titled Prakriti, their work will be represented in the medium of inkjet over canvas.

In the words of the artists:

"Nature - its magnificence is the ultimate playground for any artist. In seeking to possess its sublime, transcendental poetics in digital format, its vast stretches of tonal values, organic feel and organic feel and tactile qualities of its elements, subtleties of peace in the plastoicity of its forms...it was asking for too much from an electronic chip. Nature was as usual benevolent,and surprisingly the computer also, very giving."

"Nature, its vast expanses and differing terrain always inspired me and the lens zooming in and out never seemed to be content with the intake. During my travels as a compulsive shutterbug, I try to capture the external variations of nature, its colors, textures, moods. In the choices made in terms of composition, perspective, there is a deep harmony. The rising sun, the rippling waters, and the vast expanse of the earth become one with me."
