A sickly child, Amal, is kept confined to his bed in an enclosed room. His only access to the outside world is what he can observe through his window. The boy weaves stories around all that is happening, using his imagination to see himself in different guises - as a yoghurt seller, a fakir and his most favourite one, the King's postman. One day, the King himself arrives to take Amal away with him. An overjoyed Amal feels that his long-cherished dream has been fulfilled.
This film is based on Rabindranath Tagore's play The Post Office.
