"Our focus areas include helping aged women and freeing women in general from the shackles of the cruel elements of this society," says Shalini Misra, the Director of Women and Child Welfare. And may God help her. Today, though, lots of mortals are also by her side, and by the side of all those who are by the side of women.
It's the International Women's Day. And among several things that the Department is doing is an on-the-spot painting competition on the theme of "Women Empowerment". The competition is open to general public from 11am to 2pm, held at Lalitha Kala Thoranam.
Interested candidates should report at the venue by 10am. The mode of painting mode would be watercolor on handmade art paper, in the size of 11/15 inch.
The participants would be grouped in two categories - 18 to 30 years and 31 to 50 years. The paintings would be put to open sale/auction on the same day and the proceeds would be utilized for the welfare of 30 aged women.
Please contact Shalini Misra, Director of Women and Child Welfare for further details.
