Nirmala Birla Gallery of Modern Art is conducting a workshop on Nirmal paintings. A five day crash course on all the hows and whats of this exquisite form of art.
Nirmal is a form of art that originated in the town Nirmal in the Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh. The artisans are known as Nakash, and more often than not they paint scenes from the Hindu epics and the Moghul dynasty. These craftsmen use indigenous colours made from minerals, gum and herbs. The paintings are vibrant and set against a black background.
The course will take you from scratch on creating a beautiful piece of art from raw materials. The course fee is inclusive of the cost of material as well. Registration for the course starts from the 30th.
