Sutradhar is presenting Neem Hakim Khatra-E-Jaan, at the Saptaparni Amphitheater, on 26th August. Neem Hakim Khatra-E-Jaan, a farce in Hindustani translated and adapted by Niyati Surelia from Moliere's "Physician Inspite Of Himself", is a 50-minute laugh riot. The original play was written more than 400 years back.
Nathulal Bankepuriya, a good-for-nothing, matric-failed, wife-beating, boozing watchman, is always at loggerheads with his wife Shantabai who, seeking revenge, throws him in the shoes of a physician, without his knowledge. Nathu is now forced to treat the gibberish speaking Sharmilee, daughter of Deewan sahib, who's hell-bent on forcibly marrying her off to Heeralal because he's richer than Rohit, her lover. Do Nathu's histrionics treat Sharmilee or does the Deewan sahib himself get a taste of his own medicine? Find it out for yourself as you laugh your wits out. The play is directed by Prof Bhaskar Shewalkar and Vinay Varma.
Entry is by donor passes of Rs. 50/- each, available at Sutradhar (Himayathnagar) and Saptaparni (Road No. 8, Banjara Hills). Please contact 98480-52541/6682-1789/98852-37887 for further details.
