Nritya Darpana is presenting Natya Mayuram, a Kuchipudi dance recital By Terala Sravanthi, on 7th October, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha.
Natyasree Sravanthi Terala has been fascinated by dance since the tender age of 3. With an inherent sense of rhythm in her dance, she has given creditable performances in her own style under the able guidance of Natya Ratna Dr. Venkateshwara Rao Mudapaka (Ardhanareeswaram Venkat), an eminent guru of the Kuchipudi tradition. She had her Rangapravesham in 1995, where she received accolades from one and all for her prodigious display of talent.
Sravanthi has presented her skills mostly in Abhinaya Nritya, exhibiting an extraordinary talent in Alivelumanga Vilasam, Uloopee, Jakkulapurandri, Simhanandani, Nritya Bharathi and Nataraja Natyahela, traditional and innovative numbers in the field. The tandava of Lord Shiva and lasyam of Goddess Parvati were performed eminently by Sravanthi in Ardhanareswaram, winning the hearts of all audiences. Sravanthi's talents blossomed with her charming portrayal of Satyabhama in Bhama Kalapam. She has also enacted the alluring and beautiful Padmavathi in Sripadaarchana (a dance drama).
Sravanthi has given numerous performances at home and abroad. She has participated in the Pingtung International Dance Festival in Taipei, and also in Hong Kong and Bangkok. She has taken part in many major festivals like the World Telugu Federation Festival, the Melattur Bhagavatha Mela Festival and the All-India Youth Summit.
She has bagged many awards for her outstanding performances. She received the title of Natyasree, the Laxmidevi Smaraka Award from Nritya Darpana, and the Best Classical Dance Award from both Nritya Priya and Kalavipanchi. She is the recipient of the CCRT Scholarship from the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
