Chitramayee - State Gallery Of Fine Arts is organising an exhibition of digital paintings by Prof. R C Sharma, from 2nd to 8th October. Prof. Sharma is a retired professor of JNTU College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad. These paintings are his recent experimentations in digital image making.
The current exhibition displays digital images that are an unpredictable synthesis of sensuous abstract elements. They are multiple images compressed into a unified whole. The visual content, with different digital colors, makes it seem like the object is in motion.
Prof. Sharma has experimented and explored with various media of art, such as photography, serigraphy, collage, oil paints and acrylic colors. He has taught media designing for more than 30 years at the JNTU, and after his retirement, he is actively involved with the computer-generated art.
Prof. Sharma has done his diploma in fine arts from JNTU in 1967, and has participated in many solo and group shows in India and abroad. He has won several awards and gold medals from various art societies, including the A P Lalit Kala Academy and the Hyderabad Art Society.
