If you think that your body is a bundle of imperfection, watch My Body - a film by Margreth Olin.
My Body is a documentary recording some of the musings of Margreth Olin, about her own body. She thinks it is imperfect: she has flat feet, bumpy toes and her teeth are all wrong. Like any other woman, she looks in the mirror and sees faults in her body. Her provocative examination of her body and of her identity, resonates with the guilt of all those who have ever felt self-conscious about their physical appearance. She remembers criticisms of her appearence that go back to her childhood and adolescence. With playful humour, she reflects on body image, female identity and self-esteem.
This 26 minute film has been written and directed by Margereth Olin, and it has won awards at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Best Documentary), Amanda Awards, Norway (Best Documentary ), World Human Rights Festival (Best short film ) and DokumentART, Germany (Main award).
