A cool evening, plenty of breeze smelling of wet mud, leaves in the air, and lots of pleasant, lilting music. Or at least one of them - but it promises to make up for the lack of all the others.
Udayasri Arts Academy is organising a musical nite of cine folk songs at Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika, the mini-hall of Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha in Chikkadpally, this Sunday. On this occasion, Cine Vignana Visharada S V Ramana and comedy actor Gundu Hanumantha Rao will be felicitated. The chief guest for the evening is Vijaya Durga, Senior Announcer of Doordarshan.
The folk songs will be rendered by Y Ramakrishna, Pavan Kumar, Prakash Rao, T V N Srikanth, R T Udayalakshmi, Kamala Sastry, Rajani, Padmasri, Sujata Murthy and Apurva. The music is by Srikanth and party.
Udayasri Arts Academy was established by R T Udayalakshmi, a year ago. Udayalakshmi is an amateur singer who regularly takes part in musical nites. Udayasri was started with the intention of promoting musical nites and light music.
