Medi-Melody - A Musical Nite By Doctors

Lasya Priya is organising a musical nite by doctors called Medi-Melody, on 20th January, at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium. Doctors from all over the state are participating in this music nite. These doctors are all hobby singers who sing only during get-togethers and special functions of their hospitals.

Consultant Physician Dr. S Vijay Mohan, Surgeon Dr. A Y Chary, Neurologist Dr. Subhash Kaul, Surgeon Dr. Shashidhar Reddy, Emergency Specialist Dr. Mahesh Joshi, Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Srinivas, Pulmonologist Dr. Latha, House Surgeon Dr. Divya, Civil Asst. Surgeon Dr. Sabri and Dental Surgeon Dr. Anupama are participating in this colorful nite. The orchestra is by Vinod Babu and his Sangeet Sitare Group.

The chief guest for the evening is Padmasri Dr. K Vishwanath, Film Director. The other guests for the evening are G Kishan Rao IAS (Retd.); Sudheer IAS, Principal Secretary of Cultural Affairs; L V Subramanyam IAS, Principal Health Secretary; Dr. D N Kumar MD, DM, Sr. Cardiologist; Dr. A Y Chary, MS, Director of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh; and Katuri Subba Rao, Chairman, Katuri Medical College, Guntur.

Lasya Priya is an institute founded in 1985 by Dr. Uma Rama Rao, to impart knowledge in the theoretical and practical aspects of Indian classical dance traditions. In a span of 23 years, this institution has produced several students who work for the promotion of this ancient art tradition in India and abroad, either as teachers or as performing artists.
