Teegala Krishna Reddy College of Engineering & Technology is organising a mechanical festival Mechathlon 2010 on the 16th & 17th April, at the college campus in Meerpet, Saroornagar. This event is being conducted by the Mechanical Engineering Department, but the events are open to students from all branches of engineering. The details are as below:
Paper Presentation
The topics for presentation are:
Computational Fluid Dynamics
Automation & Robotics
Mechatronics
Engineering Design
Automobile Engineering
Manufacturing Technology
Cryogenics
Nanotechnology
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Non-Conventional Sources Of Energy
Poster Presentation
This event is a test for budding engineers to express their ideas with the help of a sequence of posters that blend in with each other elucidating the concept they have chosen. Posters related to any topic, technical or non-technical, can be presented.
Project Expo
Any live project in the field of mechanical engineering can be presented. This event encourages students to apply the aspects studied practically and to make new innovations. Students may come up with solutions to current burning problems in their educational field, and to design simple accessories which can be used by the common man.
Spot Events
Autotallin
Participants must assemble engine parts, in 3 rounds. The winner will be declared on the basis of the time consumed for completing the job, and perfection in doing the job.
General Quiz
This quiz deals with current affairs.
Technical Quiz
This quiz deals with the technical knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering.
Treasure Hunt
In this event, participants needs to survey the field and reach the final check point, with help of various surveying instruments, and clues and coordinates. The team which first reaches the final check point will be declared the winner.
Photography
The participant who captures the best picture on the day of event on the campus premises will be declared the winner.
Magic Cube
The Rubik's Cube is a 3-D mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik. Each of its six faces is covered with nine stickers, in 6 solid colours (traditionally white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow). A pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the colours. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be of a single solid colour.
Group Discussion
A topic will be given on the spot, and participants need to discuss the topic collectively.
Robotics
Krige
The task is to create a robot (manually controlled / autonomous) that can push, throw, flip, drag, or otherwise, move the opponent out of the arena within a stipulated time.
Robo Sweep
The arena of this event consists of lanes on which garbage (in the form of stones and wood pieces) will be given and a garbage bin will be situated. The task is to sweep all the garbage into bins in given time.
Robo Calci'o
This event consists of a small ground, and goal posts on either side it. The bots will have to kick the ball into the goal post within a given time frame.
Gara
This is a race in which racing bots compete to stand on the podium. The bot which completes the job in least time will be declared as winner.
Terrano
The bot has to travel all along a track that has stones, sand, inclinations, obstacles, and steep slopes, in order to gain the title.
