A dread to most, a challenge to some and a passion to the rest! Whatever be the prevailing perspective, Mathematics is here to stay. And all those who have flair for writing, and/or speaking, apart from Mathematics, itself, then they are being scouted for by The City Central Library. In honor of the renowned mathematician, Ramanujam, the library is observing Mathematics Day on the 22nd of this month. Ramanujam contributed extensively to this enigmatic subject in the form of Algebra.
Two major competitions, essay writing and elocution, are going to be held on the occasion. The former will be conducted at 11am and its topic is "Ramanujam's contribution to Mathematics". The latter will follow at 1pm - the topic is "Use of Mathematics in the day-to-day life".
Participants can choose to speak or write in either English or Telugu, whichever they are proficient in. The prize distribution will be at 5pm. As for the participation procedure, the interested can ignore it till the day of the event. The enrolling of the participants is going to be on the spot. Participation is limited to the high school and junior college students, only.
