Just as all those inter-school sports competitions are supposed to push your little ones on to greater things on the field, the country's biggest turn-on, Kaun Banega Crorepati, seems to have inadvertently sprouted its minor versions, too. And they are coming after your kids. One of them, Kaun Banega Vijetha, is all set to be among the first ones. Now, now, don't start dreaming up all the lolly that the original promises, but if Crorepati lasts well into the youth of your wards, this practice may just come in handy in cracking the jackpot.
This travesty of a quiz show (not that the real thing is any better in that regard) is just a part of the Bal Utsav being organized by the Jawahar Bal Bhavan. The latest entertainment fads captured here include fashion shows and Antakshiri. The quiz show is likely to cover 35,000 students of the twin cities' schools, while conducting the game show within the school premises. Each game carries prizes worth Rs 500/-, with an opportunity to automatically qualify for the 'mega finals', to be conducted at the Bal Utsav on the 26th December, and to win the big prize, worth Rs 10,000/- (not a bad start, huh!).
The fashion show and the Antakshiri don't promise anything so spectacular, straightaway, but the incentives can't be meager. And, by the way, there will be a hundred stalls trying to sell their goodies to you. That may seem to complete an irresistible list of activities to pursue this Christmas. All we can say is - wait (or, go over) and watch.
