The ICONART Gallery is organising an exhibition of paintings by Subroto Mondol, from 18th December to 31st December. Titled Men And Women, the exhibition features 30 of Subroto's recent works.
A mythopoetical world between man and woman, the paintings speak about the relationship between humans and nature - including greenery, birds and animals. Done in mixed style, the paintings are figurative at first sight but abstract on the message they give.
Subroto completed his MFA in Graphics from the Vishwabharati University. Mostly interested in print-making, with the moon as his major leitmotif, he has participated in several group and solo exhibitions of prints in the country - in New Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jaipur, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Chandigarh, Bhopal, and the USA. He teaches and works in Jaipur.
