Just when you thought looking south was never easier, what with everything from the state's monetary reserves to George Fernandes' morals pointing that way, here's a whole conference discussing the difficulties of that!
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), in association with the A P Department of Tourism and SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation), is organizing the second International Tourism Conference and Exhibition on Southern India - "Look South II" - at Shilparamam for a period of 8 days.
Andhra Pradesh attracts one of the largest numbers of domestic tourists, and to boost tourism in the state, as also keeping in view the twin purposes of marketing South India as a great tourist destination and of discussing the problems faced by the states in the south in emerging as tourist attractions, the exhibition is held annually.
The exhibition will have craftsmen from various states and union territories of southern India. Traditional dance and food festivals will also be the part of the fair. The other special attractions here are as follows:
Crafts Bazaar: Display and sale of crafts by more than 100 artisans and craftsmen
Magnificent State Pavilion: By several states and union territories of India
Unique Sri Lankan Pavilion: With treasures from the island kingdom
State-Of-The-Art Stalls: By national and international airlines like Silkair, Malaysian Airlines, Kuwait Airlines and Indian Airlines
