Fortunately there are some rules that take the load off your conscience. For example, it's not cheating to ask for a doggy bag in a restaurant, even if you possess no canines. But we've been wondering, is it cheating if you have one food on your plate when you are thinking of another? If you are a Hyderabadi, then that has probably happened to you when you're eating anything other than biryani.
But fret not, Dum Pukht celebrates our fascination, our quasi-obssession, our favourite food with a festival dedicated to it! Kebabs and Biryani at Dum Pukht! Murgh do Roukh Sheekpar (chicken breast kebab stuffed with vegetables cooked on a seekha), Chapli Kebab (mutton shammi, with a twist), Goolar Kebab (made from raw
bananas) and Paneer Pasinde (paneer kebab stuffed with mint and spices).
For the biryani-lovers there's Mahi Kofta Biryani (with fish), Falsa Pulao (kheema), the special mutton Sufyani Kacche Gosht Ki Biryani, and for the vegetarians there's Kathal Ki Biryani (with jackfruit!), Aloo Bukahra Biryani and Khumb Ki Biryani (with mushrooms).
Dum Pukht offers quite an interesting spread. Besides, you can't go wrong with biryani as your central theme. Or kebabs, for that matter. Let the gorging begin!
