The Moving Images Film Club and Kalakriti Art Gallery are presenting Astad Deboo's "Interpreting Tagore", in tribute to Rabindranath Tagore, on his 150th birth anniversary, on 8 January. The performance is being held at 7pm at the Taramati Baradari.
"Interpreting Tagore" uses world music, movement and alternative theatre forms, including puppets, masks as well as poetry recitation.
Astad Deboo is an Indian contemporary dancer and choreographer. He is the recipient of the Sangeet Natak Academi Award for Creative Dance in 1995, and has pioneered modern dance in India.
The performance is a part of the Krishnakriti Annual Festival Of Art & Culture, and entry is free of cost. However, tickets must be booked in advance at the Kalakriti Art Gallery, Moving Images, Goethe Zentrum, or Alliance Francaise, for pick-up.
