If the forest won't come to you, said a great saint, go to the forest. We don't know who he was or if he indeed did, but he couldn't have been more wrong. For, here is a whole 5-day session on how to convert your home to a forest.
The Department Of Horticulture at the Public Gardens is organising the Horticulture Trade Fair at the People's Plaza ground in Necklace Road, from 25th to 29th January. Nursery and plant exhibitors from various districts and states will be participating in this 5-day event. The trade fair is intended to create marketing avenues to nurserymen and to publicise the availability of various new variants of plant material.
The fair will showcase more 1,500 species of plants covering about 7,500 varieties. Horticulturists from neighbouring states will also be taking part in the exhibition. Bio-fertilisers, garden tools, seeds, and pesticides, besides various plants, will be on display and sale. The exhibition is intended to inculcate and spread knowledge among people about micro-irrigation systems, tissue culture, floriculture, bonsai and ikebana, nursery systems, and green house.
The entry is free. For further details, please contact the Department of Horticulture at 2329-9779/6559-1474/98852-60305.
