PREVIEW FOR HIMALAYAN ADVENTURE TREK 2002

The only reason that trekking the Himalayas is not in your list of the top 10 things to do in this lifetime can be that you have already done it. If you haven't, then here's an opportunity to do it in an ultra-inexpensive way! And at the best possible time - mid-summer!

Adventure Events is a city-based organization that arranges adventure treks for enthusiasts. This year it is organizing a trek in the Himalayas called HAT 2002 (Himalayan Adventure Trek 2002), which covers Roopkund in Gharwal, Uttaranchal (5029m); Beaskund in Manali, Himachal Pradesh (3540m); and various other places.

The organization's motto is to inculcate the spirit of adventure in the youth, and make them believe in the "healthy mind and healthy body" concept. The activities of the organization include hot air ballooning, rappelling, paragliding, snow mobile, skiing/snow boarding, trekking, rock climbing, mountain biking, river crossing and rafting (paragliding and hot air ballooning are activities undertaken while camping in the wild).

A number of persons ranging in age from 7 to 70 years have participated in the association's programs, and have trekked over the beautiful valleys and bridges of the majestic Himalayan ranges. Some of the beautiful places at which their activities take place are Beaskund, the Brigu lake, Dayara Bugyal, Hari-Ki-Doon, the Kafni glacier, the Kareri lake, Kush Kalyan and the Pindari glacier.

This year the organization is organizing prolonged escapades into the hills, and you can make a choice to trek either at Beaskund in Himachal Pradesh (13 days) for Rs. 5,999 (ex-Hyderabad) or at Roopkund in Gharwal Himalaya (13 days) for Rs. 5,999 (ex-Hyderabad). Let me tell you straight, the trip last year was wonderful and amazing, the organisers really took lots of pain in running the show successfully, handling about 1000 people last year..
its a trip worth taking.
