If you thought that Pepsi or Ogilvy was behind all those red and black hoardings and press ads doing the rounds, then here's some bad news about your hunch delivery mechanisms. Out here we encounter various people who start organizations to promote culture, but few, if any, hit this profile in their first year of engineering.
That's what Mini is in - she established the Premier Dance Organization with an intention to promote our culture through dance. The organization has been conducting various cultural programs in rural and urban areas, apart from encouraging young talent.
The organization is holding a "variety" dance competition on the 15th of December, where participants will be asked to perform Eastern and Western dance mixes. The participants will be categorized into 3 groups: Group 1 (solo) comprises children between 6 and 13 years of age, group 2 will have those of 14 years and above participating solo, and group 3 those of 14 years and above participating as part of a group.
To gain eligibility in the final competition to be held on 15th December at 4.00pm, the participants will have to face an audition that will take place at Sarathi Studios on the 2nd and the 9th of December at 9.00am. The winners in the final competition will walk away with cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 (1st prize), Rs. 5,000 (2nd prize) and Rs. 2,500 (3rd prize).
T Subbirami Reddy (MP) and Imran Khan (choreographer) will preside over the function. Please contact Mini, Universal Dhun, at 332-8493/663-5415 for further details.
