Many would say they do not need any more recognition, but the world isn't ready to give up the pleasure of that yet. Meet the Hyderabad Brothers again tonite, this time in even greater halo.
Sri Vaishnava Seva Sangham is honoring the Hyderabad Brothers D Raghavachari and D Seshachari with the title of Gaana Gandharva, on 24th June, at the Sundarayya Vignana Kendra. In this annual event of the SVS Sangham, awards will also be given to the toppers of SSC (10th class).
The Hyderabad Brothers, D Seshachari & D Raghavachari, hail from Hyderabad. Born in a family of musicians, they received their initial training under the guidance of their father Sangeeta Sahitya Vidwan Daroor Ratnamacharyulu and mother Sulochana Devi. They perfected their training under Late Susarla Sivaram at the Government College of Music in Hyderabad. Recipients of several awards, the Hyderabad Brothers have performed at all major institutions, festivals & sabhas in India and abroad.
On this occasion, 9 boys and 9 girl students of the state who have topped in the SSC examinations during this year will be awarded the Pratibha Puraskarams and cash prizes. In addition, 36 economically poor students from the Vaishnava community will be given scholarships.
The chief guest for the occasion is K V Ramanachary, IAS, Executive Officer of TTD, Tirupathi. The other guests are Samudrala Venugopalachari, former central minister; K V N Chari, IRS, Addl. Commissioner of Income Tax; and D Vijay Kumar, Chairman of Emesco Publications.
Sri Vaishnava Seva Sangham was established in the year 1998, to enable get-togethers of the Vaishnavas. The Sangham publishes panchangams and sponsors meritorious and poor students of the community. Every year, it felicitates one eminent personality, and gives away Ugadi Puraskarams to nine scholars of the community.
