The Olays and the Garniers of the face cream industry make us wonder whatever happened to ageing gracefully. Hopefully, you'll find solace in this exhibition.
Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad, in association with the Embassy of France in India, is presenting 'Faces That Are Lined With Stories', an exhibition of photographs by Karthick Ramalingam, at Taj Krishna, on the 11th & 12th of July.
Karthick is a young photographer who specializes in portrait photography. He is presenting a collection of his portraits of elderly people, where every line reveals a hidden emotion.
Karthick feels that in this age of nuclear families, old people are important. 'Faces That Are Lined With Stories' is an attempt by Karthick to capture the emotions of the elderly in pictures.
Each of these pictures is a novel in itself, each line in the wrinkled faces speaks silently of the struggles and happiness it had experienced. Most of the photographs in the exhibition are in black and white, as Karthick feels that emotions are best captured in monochrome.
Karthick Ramalingam hails from Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu), and currently works as an Associate Manager - Software Development, in Impiger Technologies (Chennai).
