Chennai-based artist Shalini Biswas is exhibiting her latest works "Ever At Rest", from 19th to 30th June, at the Kalakriti Art Gallery. This is a collection of abstract paintings on fluid movements.
Shalini Biswajit is a painter and sculptor, and also the Director of Forum Art Gallery. She has a master's degree in Fine Arts from Stella Maris College, Chennai, where she stood first in the University.
Shalini then went on to do a diploma in Interior Design at New York School of Interior Design. It opened a world of challenges and spaces, that ultimately led to the birth of Forum Art Gallery in 1997, a representation of her love for art, space and free spirit.
Shalini has exhibited her works in India and abroad. At Forum Art Gallery, Shalini has curated more than 30 shows from 2002, and tries to take art closer to people through workshops, art and craft classes, symposia and art therapy to terminally-ill and physically-challenged children and adults. She has illustrated a children's book 'The King and Kiang' in 2007 for Tulika Publishers, India, that is also being published by Oxford University Press, Pakistan.
