A group of 3 artists from abroad and 2 Indian artists are exhibiting their works at Shrishti Art Gallery, from 26th June to 15th July.
The artists are Bonnie Collura from the USA, Christian Huvet from France, Irina Gabiani from Luxembourg, Manohar Ch and Srinath V from India.
Bonnie Collura
Bonnie Collura, currently Assistant Professor of Art, has done her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1994, and her Masters of Fine Art (in Sculpture) from Yale University in 1996. On graduating with her MFA, her works have been featured in solo and group shows in New York, Germany, France and Italy.
Christian Huvet
Christian Huvet was born in France, and lives and works in Paris as a painter and art teacher. She holds a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Paris. She had her solo show at the Alliance Francaise of Madras in 2001, and has had exhibitions in France and in Europe.
Manohar Ch
Manohar studied MFA (print-making) at the Sarojini Naidu School of Performing Arts, Fine Arts and Communication (University of Hyderabad) during 1999-2001. He is a BFA (sculpture) gold medallist at the School of Fine Arts, JNTU, during 1991-96. He has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad. He is credited with having made the largest painting on canvas on Environmental Protection and World Peace which was featured in Limca Book of Records in 2003.
Irina Gabiani
After studying at the Academy of Art in Tbilisi, Irina moved to Amsterdam, where she studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy ("Free Direction" and "Contemporary Jewellery"). Irina currently lives and works in Luxembourg. In her works, Irina uses drawing, painting, photography and sculpture, often in porcelain or ceramics.
Srinath Vadapalli
Srinath Vadapalli holds a Bachelors Degree in painting and fine arts from the JNTU College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad, and a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the MS University (Baroda), and Ecole Des Beaux-arts (Caen, France). He works with various media, including painting, printmaking and photography. The current show features photographs by Srinath.
