DAIRA - Centre for Art and Culture is presenting a 2-day workshop by Dr Ali Ansari on "Body, Mind and Senses Enrichment". The workshop is largely experiential, focusing on expansion and deepening of sensory awareness, stilling of mind and deep self-observation.
As Dr Ali says, "Man's brain is an ingenious mechanism designed by natural selection to ensure survival and propagation of genes under conditions of natural scarcity and intense competition. It works silently and automatically within us, unappreciative of the fact that we have completely conquered natural scarcity. It causes us to compete, grab and accumulate separate "friends" from "enemies", fight, kill, create tribes and nations, exploit human beings and nature out of the fear that what we need to be alive and well is scarce and involves manipulation and control through force."
