Enfield Rider Mania 2008: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR ENFIELD RIDER MANIA 2008

The Royal Enfield, together with Hyderabad's Enfield Riders Club The Wanderers, is hosting the 6th Rider Mania, on 18th & 19th January, at the Ramoji Film City. Over 500 Enfield riders from 10 states of India will participate in this annual event.

Started in 2003 in Goa, Rider Mania is the annual gathering of all Royal Enfield clubs and enthusiasts around the country for a 2-day biker fest. During the fest, strangers bond like friends and ride like buddies. On day 1, many fun-filled events such as beer guzzling, arm wrestling and bike events form part of the festival. There are also audio visual screenings and presentations by various clubs about the rides and feats they accomplished in the year gone by. During the night, huge bonfires are lit, and the party continues into the wee hours of the morning amidst loads of songs and beer. Plenty of new friendships are made here.

One day 2, the riders will go on a city tour till lunch time, and the real fun starts from the evening. There are various competitions, such as bike assembling wars and slow races. Awards sponsored by Royal Enfield will be given to the Slow Race Winner, Best Modified Bike, the Journey of 8s winning team, the Bike Assembling Wars winning team, the beer guzzlers, the Arm wrestling Champ, and the Varun Spirit of Life Award which is given each year to the youngest participant at Rider Mania. Finally, after the awards ceremony, there is a grand rock concert by the Alter Egos band.
