The WHO's 48 Hour Film Project is organising a short-film competition from December 21 to 23, at the International School For Film + Media, Annapurna Studios.
As part of the Road Safety Campaign by the Ministry of Health (the government of India) and the World Health Organisation (WHO), filmmakers from Hyderabad are invited to make short films on the theme "Don't Drink and Drive".
The competition will be held 48-hour style - participants have to complete the films in just two days, incorporating a prop, a character and a dialogue, all of which will be announced on the kick-off day, i.e., December 21.
The registered teams must assemble at the venue on Friday, December 21, at 5pm. Teams will be assigned a specific topic along with a prop, a character and a dialogue, all of which have to appear in the film. They will set off at 7pm sharp to begin scripting, shooting, and editing. On Sunday, by 7pm, the film must be submitted, with a 30-minute buffer till 7:30pm.
There are exciting prizes to be won and, most importantly, your film will play an important role in saving lives that are snuffed out due to drunken driving.
All interested budding, amateur, and professional filmmakers are invited to participate.
Prizes:
Best Film: Rs. 15,000
1st Runner up: Rs. 10,000
2nd Runner up: Rs. 5,000
Special certificates from WHO & 48HFP will be offered to the top 3 films. Participation certificates will be given to all team members.
